Taste the best of Produced in Kent

27 Jun 2018

Our cafe team headed out on a field trip to research (and sample!) the best that Kent has to offer. We tasked them with documenting their trip and they came up trumps with a rather wonderful little video below (and some outtakes which are very funny).

Here’s a round up from our cafe manager Daniel:

“Biddenden Vineyards was the host venue to Taste the Best of Produced in Kent 2018. As Gulbenkian prides itself on working with local producers and suppliers, the café team was in full attendance with the aim to forge new relationships to showcase in the café. There were a few familiar faces such as: Hinxden Farm Dairy, Anno Distillery and Simply Ice Cream as well as lots of new and exciting products and people to chat to. The highlight of the day was sampling…!

Our favourite things that we tried were: Caramelised onion sausage rolls, chorizo scotch eggs followed swiftly by a palette cleansing elderflower vodka. A match made in heaven!

After tasting the best of what Kent has to offer; we hope to bring the experience we had to you through the café in the near future.”

ART31

ART31 takes its name from Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child, which states that ‘Children have the right to relax and play, and to join in a wide range of cultural, artistic and other recreational activities’.

ART31 is a vision created with, by, and for young people in Kent, championing the belief that all children and young people have an entitlement to access high quality arts and culture, to empower them to achieve their creative potential, and to genuinely engage young people as equal partners in any decision making that affects them.

The ART31 Youth Board is made up of young people from across Kent aged 13-25 who steer its governance, and influence policy and practice across the county and beyond, challenging the creative sector to examine existing ways of working and integrate young people into the core of their practice.
