If you want to build up your performance skills whilst at University, or want to continue a hobby whilst working or studying, why not join our new Gulbenkian Performance Company for anyone aged 19-25 (plus school leavers aged 18).

Meeting on a weekly basis during the University term times, we will spend a couple of hours a week creating work as a group in a fun, relaxed environment, led by experienced director and facilitator Emma Willatts. There is no pressure to have performed before, and you do not need to be at University to take part.

Term dates are Mondays 27th September – 13th December 18:30 – 20:30 in the Gulbenkian Theatre or another space on the University of Kent campus.

These weekly workshops are FREE. Members sign up on a termly basis. Please let us know beforehand if you will be absent from a session. Unauthorised absences may lead to your place being offered to someone on our waiting list. If we have sold out please email creativeengagement@kent.ac.uk to be put on a waiting list for the term.

* If it’s your first time getting involved in a Gulbenkian/ART31 workshop then please complete our ART31 Registration Form and send it to creativeengagement@kent.ac.uk before sessions commence *

ART31

ART31 takes its name from Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child, which states that ‘Children have the right to relax and play, and to join in a wide range of cultural, artistic and other recreational activities’.

ART31 is a vision created with, by, and for young people in Kent, championing the belief that all children and young people have an entitlement to access high quality arts and culture, to empower them to achieve their creative potential, and to genuinely engage young people as equal partners in any decision making that affects them.

The ART31 Youth Board is made up of young people from across Kent aged 13-25 who steer its governance, and influence policy and practice across the county and beyond, challenging the creative sector to examine existing ways of working and integrate young people into the core of their practice.
