For neurodivergent artists, the world of work can present extra challenges. Many systems don’t support people whose brains process things differently, or who need to manage time, ideas or creativity in their own way.

But there’s also nothing like a little neurospice to bring some flavour to the mix!

Join Brigitte Aphrodite, a critically-acclaimed neurodivergent punk poet, Gig theatre-maker & intersectional feminist show-woman for an open chat about your experiences of working with neurodivergence.

This session is primarily for neurodivergent artists and practitioners to have a safe space to share their experiences, challenges and success of good working practices with other people who’ve been there.

While we welcome non-neurodivergent practitioners, we ask that people recognise the need for this online space to be judgement-free and accepting, so that we can all learn how better to support neurodivergent folk.

This is an online session – book a ticket as normal and an online joining link will be sent to you.

Access:

  • The Zoom will be captioned
  • This session will be supported by an access facilitator.
  • If you have any additional access needs, please let us know in advance so we can support you. Email m.pietroni-spenst@kent.ac.uk

ART31

ART31 takes its name from Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child, which states that ‘Children have the right to relax and play, and to join in a wide range of cultural, artistic and other recreational activities’.

ART31 is a vision created with, by, and for young people in Kent, championing the belief that all children and young people have an entitlement to access high quality arts and culture, to empower them to achieve their creative potential, and to genuinely engage young people as equal partners in any decision making that affects them.

The ART31 Youth Board is made up of young people from across Kent aged 13-25 who steer its governance, and influence policy and practice across the county and beyond, challenging the creative sector to examine existing ways of working and integrate young people into the core of their practice.
