In one of the world’s oldest surviving plays, fifty young women flee across the Mediterranean to escape forced marriage, risking everything in search of sanctuary. What unfolds is a plea for protection, a fight for autonomy—and a confrontation with a community caught between fear and compassion.
Written over 2,500 years ago, Aeschylus’ The Suppliant Women pulses with contemporary urgency. Performed with a live chorus of young women from The American College of Greece, this semi-staged production combines music, movement, and ancient ritual to stunning effect.
