Treeline – Participant Call Out

Call Out: Take Part in Treeline
Treeline invites people across Europe to take part in a creative listening project centred around a local tree.
We’re looking for people to choose a tree on campus that matters to them and help create a profile of it and its surroundings through sound recordings, drawings, measurements, poems and other artistic responses – including recordings made from inside the tree.
These contributions are used by composer Graham to create a new hour-long work for piano and keyscanner, transforming the collected tree sounds into a forest instrument played from the piano keyboard. Join us in listening closely, responding creatively, and giving trees a musical voice.
If you have any questions please reach out to the Creative Programme team at Gulbenkian Arts Centre on creativeengagement@kent.ac.uk
Key Dates:
Wednesday 11th March – 1pm-5pm – working with composer, Graham Fitkin! (Workshop and Recording Session)
July 20th – Taster Performance as part of the wider project
