Chump’s Comedy returns to The Gulbenkian in November with an unmissable comedy line up featuring Suzi Ruffell, Stevie Martin, Lorna Rose Treen and Hasan Al Habib hosted by Ben Pope.

Suzi Ruffell has done five sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and had multiple nominations at the National Comedy Awards. She’s rarely off the TV, regularly featuring on shows including Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, The Jonathan Ross Show, The Last Leg and lots more. She co-hosts smash-hit podcasts ‘Big Kick Energy’ with Maisie Adam and ‘Like Minded Friends’ with Tom Allen.

Stevie Martin starred in Taskmaster series 19 and co-wrote and co-starred in ‘Mitchell And Webb Are Not Helping’. Stevie’s critically acclaimed stand-up hour ‘clout’ completely sold out two runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and a 57-date debut UK tour. It was described as “ingenious” and “a clever, knowing and, crucially, hilarious, hour”.

Lorna Rose Treen, Funniest Joke of the Fringe winner and creator/star of Radio 4’s ‘Time of the Week’, is bringing her surreal, silly and joyful character comedy to Canterbury. Fresh off the back of 3 critically-acclaimed, sell-out Edinburgh Fringes, and 2 series writing and featuring in SNL UK, she’ll be treating us to some of her favourite characters.

Hasan Al-Habib is an award-winning stand-up comedian who has appeared on BBC New Comedy Awards, won the Birmingham Comedy Festival Breaking Talent Award and was a finalist at the Chortle Student Comedy Awards

Ben Pope, our host for the evening, has 3 critically acclaimed Edinburgh runs to his name. He has supported the likes of Nick Mohammed and Simon Amstellon tour and has written for various BBC Radio 4 comedy shows.

ART31

ART31 takes its name from Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child, which states that ‘Children have the right to relax and play, and to join in a wide range of cultural, artistic and other recreational activities’.

ART31 is a vision created with, by, and for young people in Kent, championing the belief that all children and young people have an entitlement to access high quality arts and culture, to empower them to achieve their creative potential, and to genuinely engage young people as equal partners in any decision making that affects them.

The ART31 Youth Board is made up of young people from across Kent aged 13-25 who steer its governance, and influence policy and practice across the county and beyond, challenging the creative sector to examine existing ways of working and integrate young people into the core of their practice.
