We work with schools across Kent to create brilliant, memorable experiences for students (and teachers).

We have lots of great performances and events for schools at Gulbenkian and we can help to tailor a visit to your needs. Many of our shows have discounts for schools, and for every 10 tickets purchased, we offer a free teacher/adult ticket. You can find more detail about visiting as a school group here.

We work with visiting companies and funding partners to develop projects for schools, including workshops sessions with professional artists and projects to get students creating (see our animation project below as an example).

We are able to offer teacher CPD opportunities and can run workshops packed with ideas on how to bring creativity into the classroom. We run an informal network of teachers meeting 2-3 times per year.

Gulbenkian is an Artsmark partner. Artsmark is the creative quality standard for schools and education settings, awarded by Arts Council England, recognising their commitment to high-quality arts and cultural education. We can offer support for schools on their Artsmark journeys through:
• CPD opportunities including INSETs
• Trips to the venue to see shows, have backstage tours and meet staff
• In-school workshops for students led by professional artists
• Online access to artists’ work and careers advice in the arts through the ART31 website

Gulbenkian is also an Arts Award supporter, so please get in touch to see how we can support students with their Arts Award journeys.

For details of any of these opportunities you can contact Eleanor or  in our Creative Learning team on 01227 827641 or e.cocks@kent.ac.uk
