All our spaces including the Cafe are closed for a conference event between 26 July and 8 Aug inclusive.

Presented by ART31 KENT

Fantastic and fun sessions for ages 16-18 years, encouraging creativity and theatre-making skills.

You don’t need experience to join – just lots of enthusiasm and energy!

All sessions are run by director and facilitator Emma Willatts.

Members will get the opportunity to perform and gain theatre-making skills. There is a focus on creativity, building confidence, developing skills and making new friends along the way!

Wednesday Evenings at the University of Kent

16-18 year olds: 19:45 – 21:30 / 7th September – 14th December (half term 26th October)

These weekly workshops are FREE. Members sign up on a termly basis. Please let us know beforehand if you will be absent from a session. Unauthorised absences may lead to your place being offered to someone on our waiting list. If we have sold out please email creativeengagement@kent.ac.uk to be put on a waiting list for the term.

ART31

ART31 takes its name from Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child, which states that ‘Children have the right to relax and play, and to join in a wide range of cultural, artistic and other recreational activities’.

ART31 is a vision created with, by, and for young people in Kent, championing the belief that all children and young people have an entitlement to access high quality arts and culture, to empower them to achieve their creative potential, and to genuinely engage young people as equal partners in any decision making that affects them.

The ART31 Youth Board is made up of young people from across Kent aged 13-25 who steer its governance, and influence policy and practice across the county and beyond, challenging the creative sector to examine existing ways of working and integrate young people into the core of their practice.
