ART31 presents

Fantastic and fun sessions for ages 13-15 years, encouraging creativity and theatre-making skills.

You don’t need experience to join – just lots of enthusiasm and energy!

All sessions are run by director and facilitator Emma Willatts.

Members will get the opportunity to perform and gain theatre-making skills. There is a focus on creativity, building confidence, developing skills and making new friends along the way!

Wednesday Evenings at the University of Kent

13-15 year olds: 6:00 – 7:45pm / 6th September – 13th December (half term 23rd October)

These weekly workshops are FREE. However, there is the option to donate either 100% or 50% of the costs which will go to supporting our Creative Engagement work with young people.

Members sign up on a termly basis. Please let us know beforehand if you will be absent from a session. Unauthorised absences may lead to your place being offered to someone on our waiting list. If we have sold out please email creativeengagement@kent.ac.uk to be put on a waiting list for the term.

ART31

ART31 takes its name from Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child, which states that ‘Children have the right to relax and play, and to join in a wide range of cultural, artistic and other recreational activities’.

ART31 is a vision created with, by, and for young people in Kent, championing the belief that all children and young people have an entitlement to access high quality arts and culture, to empower them to achieve their creative potential, and to genuinely engage young people as equal partners in any decision making that affects them.

The ART31 Youth Board is made up of young people from across Kent aged 13-25 who steer its governance, and influence policy and practice across the county and beyond, challenging the creative sector to examine existing ways of working and integrate young people into the core of their practice.
