"You've got red on you"

20 years after its release, Edgar Wright's beloved Shaun of the Dead stands the test of time; a pitch-perfect horror-comedy which puts a distinctly British spin on the zombie apocalypse, as best friends Simon Pegg and Nick Frost navigate an undead invasion

A lovingly comedic tribute to the work of George A Romero, Edgar Wright’s first feature film is the perfect genre blend of horror, comedy and romance as the down-on-his-luck Shaun (Simon Pegg) tries to balance life with his girlfriend and best mate Ed (Nick Frost). When hordes of Zombies begin to appear around London, Shaun must lead a group of survivors to the one location safer than anywhere else, the pub.

Kickstarting multiple collaborations between Wright, Pegg and Frost, Shaun of the Dead revitalised the parody film for modern times, whilst faithfully and reverentially referencing the works of past landmarks in Zombie cinema. An energetic, endlessly quotable breath of fresh air for British genre cinema, the spirit of this film carried on through their other much-loved titles in the ‘Cornetto Trilogy.’

ART31

ART31 takes its name from Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child, which states that ‘Children have the right to relax and play, and to join in a wide range of cultural, artistic and other recreational activities’.

ART31 is a vision created with, by, and for young people in Kent, championing the belief that all children and young people have an entitlement to access high quality arts and culture, to empower them to achieve their creative potential, and to genuinely engage young people as equal partners in any decision making that affects them.

The ART31 Youth Board is made up of young people from across Kent aged 13-25 who steer its governance, and influence policy and practice across the county and beyond, challenging the creative sector to examine existing ways of working and integrate young people into the core of their practice.
