    • A chance to audition for RARE Productions' rendition of Annie!

    With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan.

    This all- time classic musical is a must for all the family, with a great sound track and fabulous acting parts.

    Audition process

    We hold open auditions so there is no need to book in. Simply turn up any time within the allocated time slot for your age group, sign in, and audition! You only need to attend one audition.

    The person auditioning will go into the audition in groups of approximately 15-20 people of a similar age group where possible (8-12yrs or 13-18 yrs/13-21yrs depending on show title).

    Auditions usually last around 30 minutes and involve singing, dancing and acting.

    All materials are provided and taught on the day, so there is no need to prepare anything beforehand.

    Parents are not allowed into the audition room, but are asked to stay and supervise their children before and after the audition.

    A letter will be sent in the post letting you know the outcome of the audition within two weeks of the second audition date. All auditionees will receive a letter whether successful or not.

    AUDITION 1 – Friday 17th July 2026

    5.00pm – 6.00pm (7-12 years old) – You can arrive anytime during this time slot.
    6.00pm – 7.00pm (13-18 years old) – You can arrive anytime during this time slot.

    AUDITION 2 – Sunday 19th July 2026

    2.00pm – 3.30pm (7-12 years old) – You can arrive anytime during this time slot.
    3.30pm – 5.00pm (13-18 years old) – You can arrive anytime during this time slot.

    You can audition at 7 years old as long as you are 8 by the time of the show.

    ART31

    ART31 takes its name from Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child, which states that ‘Children have the right to relax and play, and to join in a wide range of cultural, artistic and other recreational activities’.

    ART31 is a vision created with, by, and for young people in Kent, championing the belief that all children and young people have an entitlement to access high quality arts and culture, to empower them to achieve their creative potential, and to genuinely engage young people as equal partners in any decision making that affects them.

    The ART31 Youth Board is made up of young people from across Kent aged 13-25 who steer its governance, and influence policy and practice across the county and beyond, challenging the creative sector to examine existing ways of working and integrate young people into the core of their practice.

    National Theatre Connections – Gulbenkian Young Company

    NT Connections is the National Theatre’s nationwide youth theatre festival. Each year it offers a unique opportunity for youth theatres and school theatre groups to stage new plays written for young people by some of theatre’s most exciting playwrights, and to perform in leading theatres across the UK.
