Presented by Folk In The Barn, in association with Gulbenkian

2020 sees two significant events for popular Folk Rock band Fairport Convention. The 50th anniversary of both their seminal ‘Full House’ album and also Peggy’s (Dave Pegg) membership of the band. What better way to celebrate than with their family of loyal fans old and new, playing not only Full House in it’s entirety but also music from their brand new studio album.

Fairport have been entertaining music lovers for over half a century. During that time the band that launched British folk-rock has seen many changes. But one thing has remained the same – Fairport’s passion for performance.

Holders of a BBC Lifetime Achievement Award, Radio 2 listeners voted their groundbreaking album Liege & Lief ‘ The Most Influential Folk Album of All Time’, Fairport’s story has been celebrated with television documentaries on BBC Four and Sky Arts.

The band features founding member Simon Nicol on guitar and vocals, Dave Pegg on bass guitar Ric Sanders on violin, Chris Leslie on fiddle, mandolin and vocals, and Gerry Conway on drums and percussion.

Smith & Brewer
The concert will start with a set by special guests Ben Smith and Jimmy Brewer. They are famed for their close harmony singing and guitar virtuosity. Ben and Jimmy have showcased in Nashville, supported Ralph McTell on tour, and played Fairport’s Cropredy Convention and Cambridge Folk Festival.

Our work with young people

Children and Young People are at the heart of what we do, as audience members, as participants and as thought leaders.

Through our landmark ART31 project we are working with young people and partners in Kent to create new opportunities through the arts for under 25's across the county.

Below are some of our current projects focused on the development of young people.
