Gulbenkian closed to the public - Tue 26 Jul to Mon 8 Aug

All our spaces including the Cafe are closed for a conference event between 26 July and 8 Aug inclusive.

Presented by Richard Layzell

We are not alone. Why look for UFOs when we’re surrounded by other non-human beings?

A relationship to landscape and biodiversity were designed into Kent University. Woodland ecosystems are an intrinsic part of the Canterbury campus, while river ecosystems are integral to the Medway campus. The natural world is everywhere.

Ever:land at Night is a rare opportunity to be at one with nature, after dark, as part of a small group, sharing an immersive experience of landscape, and personal stories of our relationship to other life forms. This is collective time outside in the spirit of shinrin-yoku (forest bathing).

Led by artist and curator Emma Leach, this site-specific event is exclusively created for people who identify as female or non-binary.

Meeting at the Gulbenkian, to be led to a secret location.

You will be given further instructions when you book but you should dress warmly.

Numbers are strictly limited

ART31 takes its name from Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child, which states that ‘Children have the right to relax and play, and to join in a wide range of cultural, artistic and other recreational activities’.

ART31 is a vision created with, by, and for young people in Kent, championing the belief that all children and young people have an entitlement to access high quality arts and culture, to empower them to achieve their creative potential, and to genuinely engage young people as equal partners in any decision making that affects them.

The ART31 Youth Board is made up of young people from across Kent aged 13-25 who steer its governance, and influence policy and practice across the county and beyond, challenging the creative sector to examine existing ways of working and integrate young people into the core of their practice.
