East Bridge Chorale is delighted to return to the Colyer-Fergusson Hall to perform their autumn concert.
Directed by Benedict Preece, with full orchestral accompaniment by East Bridge Concert Orchestra and featuring soloists by members of Caritas Chamber Choir, this year’s headline piece will be Haydn’s glorious Nelson Mass – or Missa in angustiis (‘Mass for troubled times’). Emotionally intense and highly dramatic, this late-life masterpiece is one of Haydn’s best-loved works.
The choir will also sing Haydn’s smaller scale, yet similarly complex choral work, the Te Deum, as well as Schubert’s Magnificat D486 and the exquisite and universally popular Ave Verum Corpus, by Mozart. Completing the programme will be Mozart’s Exsultate, jubilate for solo soprano and orchestra.
Formed in 2010, East Bridge Chorale has evolved under Benedict Preece’s inspirational direction to become one of Kent’s leading community choirs.
