This year sees the 40th anniversary of the release of Bill Douglas' Comrades (1986). The film will be introduced by Professor Julian Petley.

A rare big screen showing to mark the 40th anniversary of the original release of this neglected modern classic of visionary British cinema. With Comrades, writer/director Bill Douglas tells the epic story of the Tolpuddle Martyrs in 1834, its action moving from Dorset to Australia. Featuring eye-catching performances from a range of British actors including Keith Allen, Phil Davis, Michael Hordern, Alex Norton, Imelda Staunton and Robert Stephens, Comrades is not to be missed. 

All October cinema will be half-price for students, making tickets £2.50 per person.
