Trio Sonatas by Purcell & Handel

Trevor Pinnock writes: ‘One of my treasured memories is taking part
in a performance of Purcell’s Come ye sons of Art with Alfred Deller,
when I was a choirboy at Canterbury. This memory is always very strong when I come to play at Stour Music, so I have selected a feast of Purcell trio sonatas as the first half of our concert. These highly concentrated compositions are challenging and rich in emotion. Trio sonatas continued to be popular during the 18th century, but the style became lighter and more akin to orchestral concertos of the period.’

Our work with young people

Children and Young People are at the heart of what we do, as audience members, as participants and as thought leaders.

Through our landmark ART31 project we are working with young people and partners in Kent to create new opportunities through the arts for under 25's across the county.

Below are some of our current projects focused on the development of young people.
