Are you in a band? Want to take part?

Calling all Kent-based bands! We’re hunting for the next Kent sound icon.  Submit one original song and compete in this special Battle of the Bands competition.

Terrific prizes up for grabs including £200 cash prize and 1 day using the recording studio at the University of Kent’s Centre for Music and Audio Technology for the winning band. The recording studio will be available to the winner for use on either 24th, 25th or 26th June.

Bands needs to have the majority of members aged 25 or under.

  • How would you describe your music style:
  • Link to the song you would like to submit for the Kent Sound Off (via youtube, vimeo, soundcloud, Facebook etc)

Deadline for applications is Friday 31st May and the bands will be notified if they have a slot by Monday 3rd June.

About the Centre for Music and Audio Technology

The University of Kent’s Centre for Music and Audio Technology offers three undergraduate music degrees and a PhD in Music at the Historic Dockyard Chatham, Medway.

The Centre provides excellent teaching by leading experts, superb links to industry and state-of-the-art equipment and facilities.

Our work with young people

Children and Young People are at the heart of what we do, as audience members, as participants and as thought leaders.

Through our landmark ART31 project we are working with young people and partners in Kent to create new opportunities through the arts for under 25's across the county.

Below are some of our current projects focused on the development of young people.
