Presented by Folk In The Barn, in association with Gulbenkian

Double Grammy Award Winner Albert Lee returns to the UK, this time accompanied by his great Electric Band.

Undoubtedly one of the finest guitarists the world has ever seen, Albert is also an accomplished piano player with a fine singing voice that can be soulful but equally ‘tear it up’ rock ‘n roll style.

Co-writer of Country Boy and writer of many other great songs, always in great demand by other artistes, Albert has played on countless sessions worldwide. He has appeared and recorded with many of the finest artistes in the music industry, including Glen Campbell, Dave Edmunds, Dolly Parton, Joan Armatrading, Ricky Scaggs, Joe Cocker, Willie Nelson and Linda Ronstadt.

Albert was a member of The Everly Brothers and of Emmylou Harris and Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings band, and toured extensively with them all.

In March 2015 two sell out concerts took place at the Cadogan Hall in London to honour Albert and celebrate his 70th birthday. A whole host of stars and friends turned out to celebrate with him.

Albert is one of the nicest people in the music business and held in the highest esteem by all his peers. This is his second visit to Folk in the Barn and we can’t wait to have him play at the Gulbenkian in Canterbury for the very first time.

Will Varley

Will Varley’s musical journey has been astounding. From busking in London and his home town Deal, via a 500 mile solo trek along the South Coast with his battered guitar on his back playing to anyone who would listen and composing as he went, to The Royal Albert Hall and his own sell out show at Islington’s Union Chapel. Inside ten years he had a record deal, awesome stage presence and the hard-earned, word of mouth reputation.

Our work with young people

Children and Young People are at the heart of what we do, as audience members, as participants and as thought leaders.

Through our landmark ART31 project we are working with young people and partners in Kent to create new opportunities through the arts for under 25's across the county.

Below are some of our current projects focused on the development of young people.
